About Doc on the Block
Meet Dr. Melissa P. Broyles
Board-certified physician bringing compassionate, unhurried geriatric care directly to your home.
Dr. Melissa P. Broyles is the founder of Doc on the Block, a house call practice dedicated to older adults in Delaware and Chester counties, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Broyles earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997 and completed her Family Medicine residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in 2001. She spent more than a decade serving her local community as a family physician before pursuing additional training that aligned more closely with her desire to provide holistic, relationship-centered care.
In 2014, Dr. Broyles completed an Integrative Medicine fellowship under Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona and subsequently opened a private practice grounded in whole-person healing. Her commitment to caring for patients' spiritual well-being led her to Dallas Theological Seminary in 2018 and chaplaincy training at Main Line Health in 2022. This work proved transformative, clarifying her calling to serve older adults both medically and spiritually.
Motivated by this sense of vocation, Dr. Broyles returned to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine to complete fellowships in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (2025) and Geriatric Medicine (2026). She now integrates her clinical expertise, spiritual training, and deep respect for the aging population into a compassionate, interdisciplinary approach to care.

A Philosophy of Care
Caring for someone in their home gives invaluable insight into who they are, what matters to them, and what they truly need. That is medicine the way it used to be — and the way it should be.
Doc on the Block was built on a simple belief: older adults deserve unhurried, thoughtful medical care — and they deserve to receive it where they are most comfortable.
Every visit is an opportunity to understand the whole person, not just the chief complaint. Dr. Broyles brings the same thoroughness and warmth to every home she enters, whether it is a first visit or a long-standing relationship.
